The Hourglass Door

The Hourglass Door is a fiction novel. It has a little bit of romance and drama with a sprinkle of action and mystery mixed in. It is the first of a trilogy. It is about a girl named Abby who is in high school living a normal life. A foreign exchange student shows up and she later finds out that he is a time traveller. Though the interesting thing about this book is, time travel is a punishment, a bad thing. That is an approach to time travel that isn't usually thought of. I loved this book. I couldn't put it down and it caused me many late nights. I love how the author made the character Dante (time traveller). He is so mysterious, beautiful and romantic. He likes to keep his past hidden and it takes everything in you to not scream, tell me your story! The author makes it very easy to picture him and he is, by far, my favorite character. The story is very unique and well written. It takes you on a crazy adventure in the comfort of your own home. Throughout the whole book, you laugh, cry, and be afraid for/with the characters. I just love the way that Abby and Dante fall in love. They seem hesitant at first but after a while, they would take a bullet or each other. I would reccomend this book to anyone who likes romance and science fiction but not to have too much of either one. Although I will say that you should be at least a teenager to read this book because it does have kissing and some minor swear words in it. If you are interested in this and want to read the other ones, they are just as addicting if not more than this one.
